Dermalogica PRO Microneedling

This minimally invasive procedure is one of the most requested skin treatments globally. Dermalogica have redesigned the service to ensure best possible results when treating hyperpigmentation, visible pores, lines and wrinkles.

We use the dermalogica Pro Pen skin needling device to perforate the skin creating thousands of pinprick, fractional wounds that trigger an inflammatory reaction. This response initiates natural repair processes that promote skin rejuvenation.

How it works

Inflammation

Piercing the skin triggers the immune system to disinfect the wound, increase blood flow and create new tissue.

Proliferation

Active healing takes place and damaged tissue structure is reconstructed. New blood vessels develop.

Remodelling

New tissue, blood vessels and strengthened collagen regeneration all have a tightening effect on the skin.

What to expect and how to enhance results.

What is the treatment like?

Your skin will be cleansed and analysed then degreased and resurfaced with an appropriate level of chemical peel. An appropriate needle size and depth is used to target your skin health goals. The Microneedling tool is directly and evenly moved across your skin, working with the exclusive Dermalogica technique for best results. Skin is then wiped with sterile saline solution and a final application of PRO Restore is applied. LED may be used to further enhance the treatment if appropriate.

Does it hurt?

It can be uncomfortable in certain areas of your face. However, the needling part of the treatment is fairly quick and we will work with you and your skin, progressing the treatment over time.

How many treatments do I need?

You will feel a difference with one treatment, however, with any advanced skin treatment, a series of treatments is recommended for long lasting, visible results. It will always depend on your unique skin and goals, but generally, a series of 3 - 6 Microneedling treatments is recommended, having them every 4 - 6 weeks.

How much downtime is there?

There’s no significant downtime with this minimally invasive procedure. You may experience some mild redness and irritation for 2 - 3 days after Microneedling, but this will subside quickly. When receiving Dermalogica’s PRO Microneedling treatment, PRO Restore is included as part of your aftercare. This advanced formula helps minimize downtime and skin recovery with enhanced results. It’s vital you follow the post-treatment home care routine we recommend for you - this is as important as the treatment itself for maintaining and enhancing your results.

How to prep and prime your skin before and in-between PRO Microneedling treatments.

With any of our Advanced Skin Treatments we would always want to do at least one of our Pro Skin treatments to ensure we are familiar with your skin and how it responds to touch and professional actives. We also need to patch test you for many of the products used.

A well hydrated and prepped skin with good barrier function means the skin will tolerate the treatment better and reduce the risk of adverse responses. Up the use of serums and gentle exfoliants in the lead up to an advanced skin treatment, remembering to stop retinol and exfoliants a good 3 days before you're due in with us.

The Pro Restore concentrate will be given to you to use at home after your treatment.
